Biography

Eric van der Hijden, PhD, is a healthcare professional and researcher from the Netherlands who has made significant contributions to the field of value-based healthcare. He has a background in healthcare management and policy, and has worked in various positions in healthcare organizations. Currently, he is affiliated with both VU University Amsterdam as a senior researcher and the Dutch health insurer Zilveren Kruis, where he works as a manager alternative payment models. He has authored several publications on the subject, including articles in leading healthcare journals such Millbank Quarterly. He is a member of various advisory committees, including the Dutch Healthcare Authority advisory committee on appropriate care.
