Biography

I am currently working as a value based healthcare advisor and researcher at the department of Quality and Patientcare at the Erasmus MC University Medical Hospital. Together with a dedicated team we aim to implement value based healthcare throughout the broad Erasmus MC healthcare structure. With my background in psychology and epidemiology I am especially interested in how to intervene on healthcare provider behavior and in monitoring and evaluating these interventions. The underlying question that interests me is: How can we move healthcare providers to integrate value based healthcare into their daily practice and to communicate outcome information to their patients? My current research focus also lies in measuring costs in the value-based healthcare equation, and inclusivity in measuring outcomes. I have been working at the Erasmus MC for over 10 years. I gained my PhD in the prediction of adherence behavior, researched shared decision making interventions, taught communication techniques to medical students and led various value based healthcare projects.
